Ferrar originally hails
from Palm Beach where he studied music with Dr. Jack Jones. After ten years in
Ireland he returned to this country to study singing with Virginia Zeani. He has worked throughout Ireland as a coach, chorus master, and singer with
Castleward Opera, Opera Theatre Company, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Lyric Opera Productions, Festival
Productions, the Downpatrick Opera Fringe, and Wexford Festival Opera.
Recent roles
include: Ralph Rackstraw in Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore for Rush
Musical Society, Giuseppe in Verdi's La Traviata for Lyric Opera Productions at the National Concert Hall in
Dublin, Don Giocondo in Rossini's La Pietra del Paragone and Don Basilio in
Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro for the Royal Irish Academy of
Music.
While in
Florida Evan has sung in the chorus of the Palm Beach Opera in their past two seasons and
continues to sing with them this 2010/11 season. With The Palm Beach Principle
Players Evan played Uncle Ernie in The Who's Tommy and was
musical director for both Miss
Saigon and Bye Bye Birdie. Most Recently he was Musical Director
for Entr'acte Theatrix's production of Cabaret at the Caldwell Theatre in Boca Raton.
