Unity in the Pines: A Christian Community Church that Love is Growing.

ABOUT US

Unity in the Pines was started in April of 1955 by Rev. Fermor Manley. They were located in downtown Lake Worth, FL and called Unity of Lake Worth. The church was located at 621 North H Street. For a short period of time in 1956 they had Rev. Eva Rosencrans and then Rev. Mary Kupferle took over the ministry and was the senior minister from 1956 to 1965. After that they hired Rev. Tom Coates who minister to the congregation from November of 1966 to July of 1972. Rev. Rev. Eversale was the minister from September of 1972 to September of 1975. Next the church had Rev. John Cuddeback from December of 1975 to September of 1977.

Stability came to Unity in Lake Worth when Rev. Larry Kendrick came in October of 1977. Rev. Kendrick retired in April of 1996. During his tenure the church moved from Lake Worth and changed its name to Unity in the Pines. The church is now located at 6073 Summit Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL. Since Larry’s retirement there have been four ministers, Stephen Willingham, Bill King, Paul Gilman, all ministers of the Association of Unity Churches.

From 2005 to 2007, Rev. Kathleen Bishop, Rev. Gloria Alexander and Rev. Tim Sodergren, all ordained ministers of the Conference of Practical Christianity ( AKA, “The Federation”) have acted as spiritual counselors and ministers of the church.

The Reverend Stephen Willingham was called back to Unity in the Pines in May of 2008 and left again in November of 2008. Since that time the church is operating under the supervision of the Board of Trustees and Rev. Liz Petipren a License Unity Teacher and ordained Inter Faith Minister and the president of the Board. Unity in the Pines has regain affiliation with the Association of Unity Churches and run their Sunday services with a rotation of guest speakers, all of whom follow the Unity Principles inaugurated by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, Co-Founders of the Unity Movement.
